The Bulb region in the summertime
Experience the Bollenstreek in the summer! Do not think that there is nothing more to do in the bulb-growing area once the flower bulbs have flowered. Cycling and hiking is an excellent choice in this fascinating landscape with its dunes, forests and country estates. Or visit the historic cities of Haarlem and Leiden and do not forget the beautiful coast and its cozy seaside resorts.
Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen
This area covers 3400 hectares and is the largest nature reserve on the Dutch coast. You can also endlessly walk through forests, dunes and heath. Almost everywhere you can get off the trails to stroll around. And who knows, maybe you will meet a fallow deer, roe or fox!
Bloemencorso (flower festival)
In April it will be bustling in the bulb-growing region. The parade consists of about twenty floats and more than thirty richly decorated with luxury and special cars. Along the entire route there is enough space for the many hundreds of thousands of visitors. Friday evening there is a procession in Noordwijkerhout that starts at 21.15.
The Linnaeushof
In neighboring Bennebroek you will find Europe’s largest playground with more than 350 playground equipment. There is something to experience for every age. There is also an indoor playground for bad weather.
Madurodam
Madurodam is the smallest city in the Netherlands: a miniature city. The buildings, but also the cars and planes are 25 times smaller than in real life. You really feel like a giant when you walk through the miniature city.
Haarlem
A day out in Haarlem? Within 20 minutes by car you are in the city center of Haarlem. By train you are there within 10 minutes. You can park your car at Hillegom station (5 minutes from the campsite).
Amsterdam
A day out in Amsterdam? Within 35 minutes by car you are there. By train you are there within 30 minutes. You can park your car at Hillegom station (5 minutes from the campsite)
Keukenhof
The 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths provide more than 32 hectares of fragrance and color. 30 flower and plant shows alternate in the pavilions. The beautiful sea of flowers can be admired from late March to mid-May.
Beach
Strolling on the boulevard, (midget) golfing, in the summer months nice brownbakken on the beach; in the nearby seaside resorts there is always something to do. The wide beach of Langevelderslag is only 7 km from Family campsite Vogelenzang removed and by bike it takes half an hour to reach it. At the beach there are several eateries and plenty of parking places.
Duinrell
At Duinrell Amusement Park everyone experiences a fantastic day out. Duinrell offers fun for the whole family. From Waterspin and Splash to roller coaster Falcon and indoor playground Rick’s Fun Factory. At Duinrell Amusement Park there is a lot to do for everyone.
Space Expo Noordwijk
How does gravity work? What is a black hole? What function do satellites have? Discover it yourself on the gravity square, the satellite square or with the gravity pit. A visit to Space Expo is a breathtaking and educational experience for young and old.
